Indoor Activities When You’re at Home With the Kids

Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, many of us are spending more time at home than before. While this can feel stressful and overwhelming at time, it also gives us all more time to bond with our kids. Here are a few fun indoor activities you can try to add some fun to your days at home. Card games A deck of cards can easily turn into hundreds of different games. Kid-friendly card games include Go Fish, War, Memory, Old Maid, and Crazy Eights. Pen and paper games With just a sheet of paper and a pen or two, you can create fun puzzle games. Try simple games like Hangman, Dots and Squares, Sprouts, and Why? Because. Toilet paper roll cities If your kids have grown tired of play dough, bring out some new materials they can build with. Collect empty toilet paper or paper towel rolls, popsicle sticks, cardstock, and paint or markers. They can paint the rolls and use the paper to make windows, doors, and roofs. Puzzles You probably have a handful of puzzles stored somewhere in your house. Pull them out, let your kids pick one out, and put the puzzle together as a family. You can also let your kids try making their own by drawing pictures on heavy paper or cardboard and then cutting them into interesting shapes. Romeo Ford wishes you and your family a safe and pleasant spring. Remember to call us for any vehicular needs this season.

Try This If You’ve Derailed Your New Year’s Resolution

Setting goals is a great thing, but staying on track is what matters. Unfortunately, especially in those beginning stages of starting a new habit, it can be hard to stick to it. If you’ve already fallen off track with your New Year’s resolution, don’t get up. Get back on the wagon with these easy tips. Find your “why” A great way to stay on track is to evaluate why you’re doing something. If you lose motivation, it may be because you haven’t found your reason yet. If you’re exercising, are you doing it to lose weight, become stronger, be healthy, or something else? Are you learning a new language because you want to? Asking these questions is important, especially if you realize you want to do a different resolution entirely. See failure as an opportunity If you’ve gotten off track a few times, you may need to take a look at your approach. Your system or routine may not be working for you. Finding the right way to approach your goals is half the battle. Be accountable Some people aren’t motivated by themselves. They need the influence of someone else to track their progress. If this sounds like you, consider talking to a spouse, friend, or family member about your goals.   Maybe one of your 2020 goals was to take better care of your current vehicle or invest in a new one. That’s definitely a resolution we can help with here at Romeo Ford! Call us to schedule a service appointment or stop by to browse our 2020 model lineup.

Ford Files New Patent for Liftgate-Mounted Video Projector

Ford recently filed a new patent for a video projector that would mount to a vehicle’s tailgate. This innovation promises to revolutionize the way people view media while traveling. How it works Per the patent’s abstract, the design will feature a video projector that will attach to the liftgate. When the liftgate is open, the device will project the video away from the vehicle onto whatever surface the user chooses. The projector also has a secondary mode which projects light away from the vehicle. This feature uses a bright white light to illuminate the space and a yellow light that attracts insects so humans can avoid getting bug bites while watching their favorite movie. Implications on the driving experience Having a place to play video in a car is nothing new, but a mountable projector opens up many possibilities for enjoying a Ford vehicle. For instance, you could drive to a remote location and project your favorite movies on a broad screen rather than from a smaller display screen located inside of the vehicle. It’s a great idea, especially for outdoorsy folks who want to relax in nature while still enjoying some of the conveniences of staying at home. For more exciting news from Ford, stay tuned to our blog in the days ahead. Or better yet, stop by Romeo Ford in-person to test-drive the brand’s shiny new models for yourself.

Hit The Road With These Games!

Spring is here and summer is right around the corner and that means you and the family are getting ready to hit the road! While this is a very exciting time, there are a few things we want to discuss before you all hop into the vehicle and hit the road. First, you need to have your vehicle serviced! Why? Well, no road trip needs a minor break down and by stopping in to service your vehicle with our team, you’ll avoid any unnecessary roadblocks along the way. Second, you need a list of fun games that will help pass the time and miles with ease. So, check out our list below and be sure to stop in to see our team when you’re ready to get your vehicle in shape for those long, exhausting road trips! License Plate Map Grab a clipboard, a color-less printed out copy of the U.S. map, and some crayons! When you see a license plate from a certain state, color it in! This will keep kids occupied for hours as they race to be the first one to get all 50 states! The Alphabet Race One adult picks a letter from A-Z and whoever spots that letter out the window first (billboard, cows, tires, for example) gets to go next. This game is truly endless and can help pass the time especially with small children who are learning new items! I Spy Everyone knows this one! Start with saying “I spy with my little eye….” and give a clue as to what you are looking at. Everyone takes a turn guessing at what you could be seeing, the person who guesses correctly gets to start the next round. 20 Questions Another popular and easy game! Someone in the car thinks of a specific object and other passengers take turns guessing what the person, place or thing could be and can be answered with a simple yes or no. After every answer, the questioner gets one guess at what is being thought of. Person to guess correctly wins and gets to start the next round. Spot The Car This is a great game for older children who can differentiate the difference between vehicle models. Instead of looking for different states like we did in the Licensee Plate Map game, you’re looking for different models. You can make a printable scavenger hunt list to check off when that model is found. The first one to check off all models wins! Oh, and one more thing! Don’t forget to visit our specials page to see how you can service your vehicle for less. Or if you’re looking to upgrade your vehicle, check out our monthly offers that are always changing to offer you nothing but the very best savings. Let's Play A Game: Road Trip Games

Is it time to take the last road trip of the summer? Although that may be sad to think about, we are hoping to make that last road trip an exciting one with some great road trip games that will help pass the time and miles to come! Take a look below and let us know what some of your favorite car games are! I Spy My favorite game! Someone starts the game by saying “I spy with my little eye….” and follows up with a clue as to what you are seeing. Each passenger takes a turn guessing at what the object may be, the person who guesses the object first gets to start the next round. License Plate Map: Grab a clipboard, a blank printed out copy of the U.S. map, and some colored pencils! When you see a license plate from one of the states, color it in and keep searching! This game will keep kids entertained for hours as they race to be the first one to get all 50 states! Plus, it will help them determine where certain states are on the map. The Alphabet Race A passenger picks a single letter from A-Z, whoever spots that letter out the window first (cars, tractor, billboard, for example) gets to start the next round. This game truly has no winner and can help pass the time especially with small children who are learning to associate letters with objects. 20 Questions Another one of my favorite games! A passenger in the vehicle thinks of something/ someone and other passengers have to take turns guessing who/ what the person, place or thing is. Guesses must be answered with a simple yes or no. After each answer, the guesser gets ONE chance to guess at what is the object/person. The passenger that guesses correctly wins and gets to start the next round. Spot The Car This game is great for older children who can differentiate the difference between various vehicle models. Prepare by making a printable scavenger hunt checklist for passenger to check off when a vehicle model is found. The first passenger to get all the models wins! Are you ready to head out? We sure are! Don’t forget these games when you’re packing up your gear and getting ready for the one last road trip! Before you leave, show your Ford a little TLC by scheduling a service appointment for a tune-up! Games In A New Ford? Yes, Please!
